Hemingway's a moveable feast
Updated: Jun 1, 2018
Hemingway's sense of adventure in Paris as he is trying to figure out his life as a young journalist really resonated with me in terms of being willing to do and try new things. I think that as a journalist, you have to be willing to get out of your comfort zone, and that is kind of what Hemingway did.
I am looking for the Paris that allows me to get out of what I am used to in the United States and make new connections that I would not get to make anywhere else. I hope to not feel too overwhelmed, but instead just take in everything and let myself really learn from every single experience. Hemingway really observed every single little detail in Paris as described in A Moveable Feast. This is something that I believe to be important because a lot can be learned from the small details, especially when looking at the idea from a journalist's perspective.
My life looks a little less directional when I look through the prism of A Moveable Feast. I connect with Hemingway in the sense of wanting to explore and try new things, but I am unsure as to where I am heading. As I am still exploring exactly what career path I want to take in the field of journalism, I hope my experiences in Paris will help me to find at least some sense of direction.
